How to Care For Dried Flowers

Dried flowers are a wonderful long-lasting and low-maintenance home décor that brightens up any room! They are also fragile and due to their organic nature, dried florals tend to change over time.

Here are a few tips to help you prolong their life and prevent them from molding and breaking down.

Keep them dry all the times

Your dried blooms do not need watering and they should never be sprayed with chemicals or cleaners. If they become moist, they can become moldy. They are meant to be kept indoors in stable environments to avoid temperature fluctuations.

Avoid direct sunlight

Dried flowers naturally change their colors over time. You can slow their fade and help them retain their vivid colors for much longer by keeping them away from direct sunlight.

Display them someplace ‘quiet’

Be gentle while handling your dried botanicals. Preserved flowers are fragile and might become more brittle as time goes on. It is best to display them someplace with little movement. That means that your dining table might not be the best spot as they would be moved around frequently. Instead, the side console table or a bedroom dresser is an ideal place!

They also need to be kept away from direct airflow such as open windows or air vents to prevent their stems from breaking and falling apart.

Always keep your dried flowers away from children & pets

Keep in mind that dried florals are not edible and are often treated and sprayed with numerous fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides throughout their growing season. For everyone's safety, keep them out of reach of little hands and your furry friends!
